Who I am
This website, placerank.co.uk, is run by Rich Flynn, trading as PlaceRank — a local SEO service based in Ormskirk, Lancashire, and the local-SEO arm of Flexiweb. If you have any questions about your data, email me at info@placerank.co.uk.
What this policy covers
It explains how I handle any personal information you give me through this website. I'm the "data controller" for that information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018).
What I collect
The only way this site collects personal data is the contact form. When you use it, you give me:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address
- Optionally, your phone number, website, and whatever you write in the message
That's it. I don't collect anything else through this site, and I only ever get what you choose to type in.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn't use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. Nothing follows you around, and there's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.
How your enquiry reaches me
The contact form is delivered by Web3Forms, a third-party form service. When you submit the form, your details are passed to Web3Forms purely so it can forward the message to my email inbox — they're not used for anything else.
Why I hold it, and my lawful basis
I use your details only to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to provide the service you've asked about. My lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in replying to people who get in touch.
Who I share it with
I don't sell your data, and I don't share it for marketing. The only parties involved are the form provider (Web3Forms) that delivers your message and my email provider that stores it. If you become a client, any tools I use to do the work are trusted providers, and I'll tell you what they are.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry emails only as long as I need them — to deal with your enquiry, and for the duration of any working relationship that follows. After that, I delete them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- Show you the personal data I hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete it
- Stop using it, or restrict how I use it
Just email info@placerank.co.uk and I'll sort it out — there's no charge, and I'll respond within a month.
Complaints
If you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle data, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date at the top.
